Brian and Amanda’s story began in August of 2023 at Pier 13 in hoboken, nj, where they were both celebrating their friend Ashley’s birthday. Amanda, fresh off a flight from London and in the middle of a move, wasn’t paying much attention to…well, anything, until she overheard brian telling a story about a recent kidney stone. having endured a few herself, she jumped into the conversation. They briefly exchanged their horror stories, but continued on their separate ways.
Later that night, brian asked ashley for amanda’s number. And despite the fact that he was wearing an Eagles hat, she agreed. A few days later, they met for drinks at The Ivory Peacock in NYC. Amanda sipped a few spicy margaritas, Brian had reposado on the rocks, and they talked until the bar closed.
Brian left completely smitten.
Amanda’s work schedule postponed their second date, but a few weeks later they met to watch their alma mater, Penn State, play football. Over beers, wings, and a nittany lion win, their connection grew and the lunch date stretched into dinner. the two have been inseparable ever since.
a few days after Amanda’s birthday, Brian told her that he made plans to celebrate over brunch in downtown Hoboken with friends. On the way, he made sure they walked passed Pier 13, where Brian got down on one knee and proposed, steps from where they first met. After some celebratory champagne, Brian surprised Amanda again with an engagement party filled with family and friends.
It was an unforgettable day that was made even more special by so many loved ones traveling both near and far to celebrate.
